It’s not perfect, but I suppose you could call this an alpha build? Anyway, I now have mouseless browsing again :). A little more work and I guess I’ll release it or whatever. You can see my handy dandy “what are the numbers for this link” circles in this picture. I type them and it focuses on the link for me. Hooray!
I started throwing together a little design for my very first Google Chrome extension just now. It’s a port, I suppose, of an old Firefox extension I used to use called Mouseless Browsing. Google provided nice documentation for the extension APIs so I think this should be a pretty straightforward piece of code to write. Mostly I am just trying to get back into the game. I’m going to go sit at a coffee shop tomorrow (now today, actually) and crank this out I think. With luck, I won’t ever need to click on a link again.
I’ve also started looking at Adobe AIR, having downloaded a twitter client called Destroy Twitter, and am thinking about writing a tumblr client in it. I’m not sure what all functionality I would put into this client that would really save me the time of typing a URL, but it’s the first thing that came to mind. If I can dig up an API for Google Wave that will let me write a client for that, I’ll definitely do it.
Speaking of Wave, I’ve got invites. Let me know if you want them!
